Volunteer at the YWCA
Do you want to volunteer? The YWCA allows a variety of volunteers within our building. One program, Wise Options, needs volunteers to work with clients of domestic violence, sexual assault, and other violent crimes to make sure they are getting the help and respect they need and deserve.
The support employees and volunteers give to clients is what makes them believe they are capable of living a safe and happy life. But for many of them, they have experienced traumatic events that take a certain way to handle. Therefore, volunteers need 80 hours of training to work with clients. Once they have their 80 hours of training, they can work one-on-one with them.
This training is offered through the the YWCA once a year. Once completed, volunteers may answer crisis hotline calls, interact with clients in many ways, plan activities for the children and so much more.
Volunteering with the YWCA is a rewarding pastime that you will not regret. Helping survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and other violent crimes get back on their feet is amazing to witness. Over time, seeing the changes our clients make to their lives.
