Notice of Programs/Donations

Because of the Coronavirus, the YWCA and its programs are taking precautions for prevention of sickness for staff and clients.

Therefore, we will not accept item donations until April 6, or until further notice. We ask that you hold your clothing, toys, books and other items until further notice.

  • Firstly, Cinderella’s Closet is cancelled. We will check in with schools for prom season and update you with any changes via The Boutique Facebook page.
  • Secondly, all support groups are on hold.
  • Thirdly, our Charity Gala and Auction is postponed.
  • Fourthly, Our Wise Options volunteer training is pushed back.
  • Lastly, no visitors are allowed at the YWCA.

We still have advocates working with clients to make sure they are safe and healthy. Our hotline is also active. Please call 1-800-326-8483 if you need assistance from experiencing domestic violence, sexual assault or other violent crimes.

For individuals who cannot speak over the phone, please visit the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Domestic Violence website here while the Coronavirus is occurring. They have a live chat and texting option for survivors.

You can make a monetary donation to the YWCA here so we can continue to shelter, feed and support our clients.

Our Programs at the YWCA

The two main programs at the YWCA are Wise Options and Liberty House. These life-changing programs have helped thousands of people across Lycoming County for years.

Wise Options Program

Wise Options is dedicated to helping men, women and children who have experienced domestic violence, sexual assault or other violent crimes. The services are free and confidential. They are also available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Our trained staff and volunteers help provide immediate help to clients experiencing crisis. Wise Options is an emergency shelter, as well as legal services, counseling and support groups.

Liberty House

Liberty House is just as important. It helps individuals experiencing homelessness due to addiction in our area. The program helps each individual to their specific needs and makes living on their own possible.

Each of these programs help our community members in many ways. Therefore, each program is a vital part of the YWCA Northcentral PA’s mission to eliminate racism and empower women.
