Living at the YWCA
The way potential clients can join Liberty House has recently changed as of January 2018. To be housed at our program, the person must call 211 or text their zip code to 898-211. From there a 211 employee will walk them through an application that will help place them in a housing program that is best for their specific situation.
There will no longer be Liberty House applications online or in-person at the YWCA. All potential clients must go through 211.
The Coordinated Entry System of Eastern PA covers 33 counties in the region which allows anyone who is experiencing homelessness or is at risk of becoming homeless to get the help they need.
The 211 employee will let the person know what programs are the best fit for them and what is available. For admittance into the program, applicants must be at least 18 years of age. The maximum length of stay is 24 months. If Liberty House has a bed available, the 211 employee will inform the caller and make arrangements from there.
Since the system covers 33 counties, callers will have the opportunity to remain in Lycoming County for services or can be placed in one of the other counties that are a part of Coordinated Entry.
The person will then be contacted by Liberty House staff to bring them into the rapid rehousing program.
