Community Education

For the past 8 years, the YWCA Northcentral PA’s Wise Options program as not only been a source of physical and emotional support for Lycoming County but we are also a proud provider of educational programs. It has become quite evident that issues such as domestic violence and sexual assault are a major concern not only nationwide but here in our area as well. It is integral that we as a community take a stand against these issues by educating future generations on awareness and safety. Wise Options offers a large array of educational programing, free of charge, for children and teens ranging in ages 4 to 17 as well as adults, working professionals and elderly individuals.

We pride ourselves as an organization on staying aware of the needs of our community and evolving with the cultural climate. Our educational materials are tailored to meet the concerns of our audience. Currently we provide programs for healthy relationships, sexual and domestic violence awareness, bullying and diversity. We also offer custom programing for specific issues that may be relevant to your institution. All of our resources are carefully monitored and up-to-date, reflecting current and accurate research and statistics. Materials are garnered through best practices approved by the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Domestic Violence (PCADV) and the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Rape (PCAR).

It is important to the YWCA and Wise Options that our educational programing is not only informative but interesting and interactive as well. We strive to engage the students through active participation and physical interaction. Our staff is well versed in diverse educational programing, offering an exciting and thought-provoking perspective.

Not only does Wise Options educational programing offer a strong knowledge base for students and adults, we can also provide local resources for further help or assistance.
